Hello, Virtual Planet community! ✨
2024 has been an incredible journey at Virtual Planet Technologies. 🌍 We’ve connected face-to-face with over 1,000 people at in-person events across California, Florida, Oregon, Georgia, Spain, and Brazil - building meaningful relationships with communities, leaders, and changemakers. From California’s tech hubs to thought-provoking discussions in Europe and Brazil, our mission remains clear: to harness immersive storytelling to inspire meaningful action.
Starting this month, we’re kicking off a series of updates to share what we’ve been up to and what’s coming next. We’ve seen the power of co-creation firsthand through our projects, where 100% of our partners recommend our work, a testament to the transformative impact of immersive technologies. 🚀
✨ What to expect next: We’ll showcase some of our most impactful moments, including interactive workshops at the California Adaptation Forum, recognition as an XPRIZE finalist, and our first-ever award at the My Hero International Film Festival. Plus, we’ll share behind-the-scenes insights on key projects like Rising Together, which premiered at the Wall Street Journal Future of Everything Festival, and our Sea Level Rise Explorer platform, tackling sea level rise impacts and enhancing coastal resilience, featured in collaborations from the San Francisco Bay to West Palm Beach.
At Virtual Planet, our vision is to tackle global challenges by using immersive technologies to tell powerful stories that inspire action. Whether it’s visualizing sea level rise, advocating for environmental justice, or building tools for sustainable futures by creating innovative tools for climate change mitigation and resilient community planning. We’re here to make a difference! Our projects, from wildfire simulations to marine conservation VR experiences, have reached over 100,000 unique viewers, creating lasting impressions and driving dialogue.
👉 Stay tuned for more updates and let’s explore what’s possible together. Reach out if you want to collaborate or simply learn more about how immersive storytelling can make complex issues tangible. Together, we can transform these stories into real-world solutions. 💬

Some of this Year’s Highlights:
📢 TEDx Santa Cruz, CA
Our very own Juliano Calil took the TEDx Santa Cruz stage to share the transformative power of immersive technologies like Virtual Reality (VR) for climate change communication. Traditional data and maps often fail to create the emotional connection needed to inspire action against the challenges of sea level rise and other climate impacts. By transporting audiences into realistic, interactive environments, VR can shift perceptions, enhance understanding, and support effective conservation and climate change mitigation strategies.
Learn from real-world examples demonstrating how immersive experiences have sparked advocacy, influenced policy discussions, and empowered communities to take climate action. This talk challenges us to rethink how we communicate climate issues, moving beyond facts to experiences that inspire and mobilize. One of our projects shows that VR can increase climate change awareness in nearly 80% of participants!
Want to learn more? We have just created an accompanying class for the TEDx talk! TED-Ed is an incredible platform that offers inspiring lessons for everyone, connecting curiosity and learning in a unique way. Dive into immersive narratives and learn at your own pace.
